Jonathan Shyu is General Manager and Forum Director, China, IMA Asia. In the role, Jonathan is responsible for the strategy and growth of IMA’s China operations, and the day-to-day program development of peer group forums in Shanghai for China CEOs and CFOs. Previously, Jonathan was Chief Representative, Suzhou and Nanjing Center for the American Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai. In the role, Jonathan was responsible for developing an investment plan for the Chamber’s Yangtze River Delta expansion, obtaining board investments for expansion into Suzhou in 2012 and Nanjing in 2016. From 2012-2017, Jonathan managed local Chamber teams in Suzhou and Nanjing, and served as the Chamber interface with members, and with municipal and district government officials. Jonathan obtained his undergraduate degree in accounting from Washington University in St. Louis and master’s degree in management from the University of Maryland University College. Jonathan was born and raised in Silver Spring, Maryland and moved to China in 2010. He is fluent in Mandarin and is an aspiring Wu dialect speaker. Jonathan is an avid fan of the Washington Commanders and is a member of the Suzhou International Fellowship. He is married with a daughter and son.
