Allan joined IMA’s Forum Advisory Board 2024. He has more than 35 years of management experience in leadership roles in China, Turkey, Russia, and the US. He is the current chair of AMCHAM Shanghai, principal of Shanghai Goal Advisory, and former President of Merck China and EVP Merck Electronics. Allan arrived in China from the US in U then. In 2013, he joined 1999 to lead Pfizer’s business and has worked in China since Merck and served as the Head of the biopharma business Asia, including China. With both Pfizer and Merck, he has been responsible for major investments in plant and R&D in China. While leading pharma businesses in China, Allan helped with the development of policies and measures in the Chinese pharmaceutical industry and expanded the accessibility of medical services. He has twice been awarded the Shanghai Municipal Government’s prestigious Magnolia Award. He is a graduate of the College of Wooster, the University of Tennessee, and Pfizer’s management program at Harvard Business School.
