It’s time to pay attention to Indonesia. It should be Southeast Asia’s top priority, but it is struggling. We’ll move our Strategy Evening in October to Jakarta to help forum members evaluate the country’s outlook.
Local insights to inform debates: The Jakarta Overnight will be held with our longtime Indonesian partner, CastleAsia. Their Indonesian Country Program (ICP) has been the leading peer-group forum for CEOs in Indonesia for over 45 years. ICP members are being invited, ensuring we have a great depth of experience across a range of industries in the sessions.
Confirmed Commentators:
- Dennis Botman, Resident Representative, IMF Indonesia
- David Knight, Lead Economist, World Bank Indonesia
Guest Commentators: We need to listen to the policy-makers and their advisors. We have extended invitations at three levels.
- Minister Level (hard to get and prone to cancelling) – Finance Minister Purbaya, Danantara head Rosan Roeslani, and Coordinating Minister Airlangga.
- Advisors (more accessible and often the best insights) – Luhut Pandjaitan (chair) and Mari Pangestu (deputy chair) of the National Economic Council, Reza Siregar, Chief Economist of Danantara
- Local representatives of the IMF, the IFC (World Bank), and the OECD.
Instead of prepared speeches, the sessions will be run as roundtable discussions as normally occurs at our Strategy Evenings.
Sponsoring: We have a few small sponsor packages available. Connect with Is Smith if you are interested.
